CNN is reporting that Tom Daschle, beset with tax and potential conflict problems, has asked to wtihdrawn from consideration as Secretary of Health and Human Services.

My wife and I are senior citizens, and although I haven't read his book concerning health care, I have read some things about it which scare us as to what he thinks about Federal regulations concerning the health care of senior citizens. I hope what I have read is not something that is going to be part of the latest government programs. As former Senator Daschle has withdrawn from his latest position because of his personal tax programs, I am somewhat relieved. I wish I were more informed about President Obama's stimulus program. I welcome health reform, but I don't want the Federal Government to over-regulate doctors and treat senior citizens as having to "suck it up".
